Warm Weather Means Use The Crock Pot More?
Spring is upon us and that means put away the crockpot, soups, stews and chilis won't be needed to warm our bones until next fall, right? Wrong!
You may want to lay off the heavier chow during the summer, but the crock pot can be used to cook a plethora of different foods, including light fare and it won'tt heat up your house like the oven would.
Besides, who wants to hang around the house all day when you can throw the ingredients in the crock, hit the beach and come home to a great meal (and a cool house).
Check out this spring/summer dish you can make in the crock pot:
Classic Finger Lickin' Good Ribs
6 -8 ribs or whatever will fit
1/4 C chopped onion
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup water
2 Tbsp brown sugar
3 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp vinegar
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp mustard
1. Place ribs into crock pot. Mix all other ingredients and pour over ribs.
2. Cook on low 4-5 hours.
